Sports and fitness can be a springboard to a more healthy, meaningful life. SCDS kids see themselves as athletes even if they don’t always fit the traditional ideal. To that end, we offer many athletic opportunities for students with varying talents, preferences, and comfort levels. Our teams include soccer, ultimate, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, and tennis.
“We want to expose kids to sports as part of a life-long learning process,” says Athletic Director Chuck Lintz. “At the same time, we want our program to be fun and competitive so that students will sign up and play.”
At SCDS, individual improvement is important, but we emphasize team over self. It’s a winning formula, given that over a third of our student body participates in sports during any given season.
